Based in China's most emerging cultural city of Chengdu, the Hellotree Artist Residency programme is led by a brand-new concept that is to create a new model of artist residency which blends artists’ studio practices and customised travelling experiences.
During the one-month-in-residence there will be a group of 2-3 artists, each artist will be provided with an independent studio in Chengdu. And during the residency, there will be about half of the time for the artists who may choose to take a "Grand Tour” - a road-trip to the eastern Tibetan regions.
Hellotree Artist Residency programme is aiming not only at building communications between international artist groups and local art scene but also on linking the artist and culture groups that could not be easily exposed to international audiences. By blending artist-in-residence and artist-customised travelling experience, Hellotree is working on discovering new ways of art creating for artist groups today, and we also working on expanding the running models of the artist residency programme for those who are willing to explore more with us.
